"There's no right way or wrong way, you just have to live"

One of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.   My four roommates and I adventured through Berkley, Oakland, and San Francisco in a span of 24 hours.  To me, this photo embodies our jam-packed 24 hours together: the sunglasses came from shopping in Berkley, the heart drawn on her hand came from a warehouse show in Oakland, and this photo was taken at a diner in San Francisco after a night of about 2 or 3 hours of sleep.

BEST WEEKEND EVER.

My two friends and I headed to San Francisco to visit friends/go to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass on Friday. We met up with our friend, headed to his friend’s apartment, then went to Hardly Strictly. We got there right before M.Ward played, so I left all my friends and mobbed through the entire crowd to get to the front because they wanted to just listen from the hill instead of being in the crowd. Chilled halfway through the crowd during M.Ward, then walked further up before Bright Eyes.  Everyone was so nice and just dancing around and being super respectful so I somehow made it to the front row without any issues! Bright Eyes played a great set, and even brought out M.Ward during Smoke Without Fire! After the set my friend found me in the front and we waited around to see if they’d give out the set lists. Ended up getting the last one! Couldn’t believe it!

Finished the rest of the weekend hanging with friends in San Francisco, chilling on his fire escape overlooking the city, then headed to Berkeley saturday night where I got to see my best friend who I hadn’t seen in over a month and even ended up seeing my two friends from Davis who were there for a surprise party which we went to for a little bit.

Such a fun weekend! I can’t get over how great the crowd was at Hardly Strictly. No one was pushing, everyone was dancing, and everyone was just so happy and respectful.  Hopefully everyone had the same great experience there! It would’ve been cool to see more bands than just M. Ward and Bright Eyes but despite that it was incredible. AND FREE. what more could you ever want?
